Previously this institute was known as Secondary Training School (STs) Deogarh and it was established in 1967. This institution has been upgraded to the District Resource Centre(DRC),Deogarh in the year 2009 and later upgraded to the existing District Institution of Education and Training (DIET) Deogarh in the year of November 2014 ,located at Purunagarh ,Deogarh, Odisha.

DIET, Deogarh is situated in the ambience of the city and very close to the perennial stream in between two beautiful hills, enlightens the educational values, streamlines the social, cultural and ethical spirit of education in the minds of young generation.
The DIET itself is a very dynamic in performing all its perspective activities and roles with the active participation of faculties, teachers, students and communities under the guidance and supervision of Directorate TE and SCERT, Odisha, Bhubaneswar.
